IL RE Broker CE – CORE (online)
Course Credit: 4 Hours (CORE)
Course Description: This course will satisfy the State of Illinois “CORE” continuing education requirement for licensed real estate brokers and managing brokers. Topics include: License Law; Duties and Responsibilities of Real Estate Licensees; Agency; Relationships; Brokerage Agreements and Disclosures; Earnest Money and Escrow Accounts; Fair Housing; and Advertising.
Learning Objective: By the end of this course, students should be well versed in the topics that have a significant impact on the real estate industry and its consumers; familiar with various strategies to avoid common violations of the laws that pertain to real estate services; and prepared to serve real estate clients at a high level.
In this course, we will be covering the following topics:
License Law
Specific emphasis on duties and responsibilities of real estate licensees.
Agency
Specifically, agency duties and relationships.
Brokerage Agreements and Disclosures
Types of agreement and services required, as well as necessary disclosures and how to handle them.
Escrow
Focus on escrow accounts, proper handling of escrow funds, and disciplinary actions.
Fair Housing
Fair housing laws and fair housing practice, with an emphasis on protected classes, and case studies highlighting discriminatory practices.
Advertising
Advertising requirements, legal issues, and proper utilization of various media types.
